Malabar

For the 4th of July this year, we spent a couple days in Malabar Florida visiting my grandparents. It was great, there was a high-ish chance of rain every day but it only rained a little one day we were there, so we got to enjoy the beach and pool every day. Totally made up for the 7.5 hour trip taking over 9 hours both ways [kids!]


Like those goggles? The boys both HAD to have floaties and goggles and Froggy was the only one to wear them. And not long at that.


The inflatable baby boat turned into the perfect pool for Little Bear to play in everyday at the beach. Kid loved pouring sand into his pool.

Surprisingly, Monkey's life vest fit better than Froggy's Captain America float shirt. He looks adorable though, very overly muscular.

Monkey went boogie boarding a couple times in the wake, Froggy went on the waves and totally dug it. Me and Hubbie spent most of our time boogie boarding, it was a blast!



Little Bear fell asleep in my arms as I was making him jump the waves. I totally wore him out on our last day!

Wonderful trip! On the 4th, the neighbors were setting off fireworks on the beach. HUGE ones! And these really cool paper lanterns. You could also see the firework shows from the two bridges on either side of the pier. Papa bought small fireworks for the boys, they don't like big ones because they're too loud. On the last day, I went on to watch the sunrise and saw tons of fish jumping and dolphin chasing the fish. Great trip and wonderful visit with family!

This is going to be a cumulative post for every year we home school. We've been homeschooling since Monkey was a tot, starting with sign language and "everyday learning". Our first year of homeshooling was when he was 2 years old, I used the Letter of the Week curriculum until he lost interest. Today.

 End of another school week! It was so beautiful today and the mosquitos weren't bad so we had school outside today in between playtime. We've been using the ABC Find It sheets to play games for phonic practice, today we used sweet gum tree balls to cover them as he found each one from the clue card. Shaving cream for cleaning and writing practice was a GREAT idea... until I left the room to clean up and found shaving cream all over their bodies and our air purifier, whoops! Our local teacher and parent resource center has a TON of great shoebox workboxes available for rent, the first one I rented has two colored wooden balls attached to a short dowel rod, you have to push it through half way into the hole in the middle so you can slide it to one of the sides, Froggy really enjoys this!
