Our curriculum
This is going to be a cumulative post for every year we home school. We've been homeschooling since Monkey was a tot, starting with sign language and "everyday learning". Our first year of homeshooling was when he was 2 years old, I used the Letter of the Week curriculum until he lost interest. After he lost interest, I used various resources including Hubbard Cupboard , Confessions of a Homeschooler preschool , various resources for tot books . When he was 3, I used Montessori resources including Montessori at Home , and 1+1+1=1 . Monkey turned 4 and kept wanting more, I got tired of the hours I spent planning and preparing for each week, so I started buying curriculum, it isn't necessary, but for me to have extra time, it is SO worth it! Summer library program
We had so much fun this year at the library! I didn't take pictures of everything, and there are a few things we missed out on, but we were able to do so much more this year versus last year! The theme this year was Fizz,Boom, Pop and was all about science and magic. There was also a folk singer, which the kids loved because it was a smaller group, and an African drum session, which Monkey didn't care for because it was a large group and large group of drums is apparently too loud for my auditory sensitive child. We also did story time once a week during the summer, and for some reason, I can't find all of the pictures I took to show you how much fun it is! Every story time is theme based, and she does such an amazing job at incorporating everything into the theme. There are three story readings, songs with motions, rhythm songs with shakers, a craft, snack, and busy boxes at the end. It's great, because even though Monkey is on the ...
I'm tired just looking at your day! They look like they love their music class!
ReplyDeleteKindermusik is great! Thursday is one of our fun days, the day starts off with relaxing and playing in the morning, then we pack up and go to Monkey's kindermusik class. If we get there early, we have lunch in the playground before class. After class, we play at the playground for an hour or so then go home. Sometimes we'll go to the "chicken house" as Monkey calls it, to eat an early dinner and play for another hour or so before making the trek back home. I look forward to Thursday because we don't have school time at home and just play all day. Plus, it's the last day of the week that my hubbie has to work before the weekend.
